Mavic athletes excel across Europe

The National Championships weekend proved to be a strong one for riders using Mavic systems and equipment. These results, combined with performances in the Tour de Suisse and Tour of Slovakia, point to a big month ahead as the Tour de France awaits.

In national championship races around the world, riders on Mavic wheels had great success:
- Maciej Bodnar (Liquigas-Cannondale), Polish TT champion
- Denis Menchov (Katusha), Russian TT champion
- Robbie Hunter (Garmin-Barracuda), South African TT champion
- Gatis Smukulis (Katusha), Latvian TT champion
- Eduard Vorganov (Katusha), Russian road race champion
- Peter Sagan (Liquigas-Cannondale), Slovakian road race champion
- Tim Duggan (Liquigas-Cannondale), USA road race champion
- Fabian Wegmann (Garmin-Barracuda), German road race champion

Additionally, on yellow shoes, Rein Taraamee (Cofidis) won the Estonian TT championship and Jani Barta (Netapp) won the Czech Republic TT championship.

Earlier in the month, Peter Sagan showed great form in the Tour de Suisse, winning 4 of the 8 stages in commanding fashion.  And in the Tour of Slovenia, footwear athlete Janez Brajkovic (Astana) won the GC, while Kristjan Koran (Liquigas-Cannondale) won the TT in stage 4.

Clearly, these results indicate strong form for all these athletes, with the Tour de France coming up in just a few days. Best wishes to all the teams and riders in their final preparations.
